Chitra Divakaruni

Chitra Divakaruni was born in India. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly, Ms., Good Housekeeping, Chicago Review, Beloit Poetry Journal, ZYZZYVA, Indiana Review, Toronto Review, Calyx, and other publications. She has published four books of poetry: Dark Like the River, The Reasons for Nasturtiums, Black Candle, and Leaving Yuba City. Her fiction titles are Arranged Marriage, The Mistress of Spices, and Sister of My Heart. She lives in Houston with her husband and two children.
