Asia Argento began acting at the age of nine. In 2004, she directed and starred in The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things, based on the screenplay she adapted from the story collection by JT LeRoy; the film premiered in the Director's Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival. Her 2005 film credits include George A. Romero's Land of the Dead Sofia Coppola's Marie-Antoinette.
