Neil Jordan

Neil Jordan began his career as a writer, winning the 1974 Guardian Fiction Prize for his book of short stories Night in Tunisia. Since then he has published three novels, The Past, The Dream of a Beast, and Sunrise with Sea Monster. In 1982 he wrote and directed his first feature film, Angel, following it with the award-winning films The Company of Wolves; Mona Lisa; The Crying Game, which was nominated for six Academy Awards and won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay; Michael Collins; The Butcher Boy; The End of the Affair; and The Good Thief. His forthcoming novel, Shade, will be published by John Murray (UK) in the spring of 2004.
