The Tin Star

"The Tin Star" was first published in Collier's magazine in 1947. The story was adapted for the film High Noon, written by Carl Foreman and directed by Fred Zinnemann, who also directed From Here to Eternity and A Man for All Seasons. High Noon, released in 1952, won several Academy Awards, including Best Editing, Best Score, and Best Actor, for Gary Cooper's performance as the town sheriff. The movie co-starred Lloyd Bridges and Grace Kelly.
