Notes on Design

by Rex Ray

Fifteen years ago I worked as a graphic designer, and among my clients were magazines. In the evenings, to get away from the computer, I sought other, more personally satisfying ways to use my creative muscle, cutting up those same magazines to create collages and paintings. Eventually I left graphic design behind to make art full-time. It’s ironic that all these years later here I am—for this issue of Zoetrope: All-Story, at least—back where I started.
