The editors are thrilled to announce the release of the Fall 2021 edition, designed by the acclaimed musician, actor, and visual artist Tunde Adebimpe, with contributions from PEN/Faulkner Award winner T. C. Boyle, MacArthur Fellow Yiyun Li, and Booker Prize finalist David Means, among others.
Why did you accept the invitation to design the Summer 2021 edition of All-Story?
I had been asked previously but was very busy at the time, so I was honored to be asked again. I had seen beautiful issues designed by a lot of people I admire and know—Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Iggy Pop, Autumn de Wilde, Julian Casablancas—and I was encouraged by how visually inspiring those issues were. I was happy to be able to design one, too.

An interview is not like an interrogation. It is possible to undergo interrogation in such a way as to provide answers which will put an end to the interrogation. But it is not enough to provide an answer in a single interview, the answer must be provided many many times, as many times as there are interviews to be undergone. The body is put on a plane and taken here and there so that words may come out of the mouth.
At one point, the body was flown to Amsterdam. Words did come out of the mouth.
There were gaps in the day.
