Edgar Rice Burroughs
Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875-1950) published fifty-nine books in his lifetime, twenty-four of them about Tarzan. He began writing seriously at age thirty-six and within two years had initiated three of his four most important series: the Barsoom series, the Pellucidar series, and the Tarzan series. Many of these titles were originally published in All-Story magazine.
