Frank M. Robinson was born in Chicago. He was a staff writer at Playboy and a speechwriter for San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk. He has written several science-fiction novels, some of which have been made into films; published stories and articles in Cavalier, Rogue Magazine, Science Digest, and other publications; and is the co-author of Pulp Culture, a journey through the era of pulp fiction. His latest book, Science Fiction of the 20th Century, was released in October 1999. He lives in San Francisco.
