Anton Chekhov

Anton Chekhov (1860–1904) was a Russian playwright and singular master of the short story. Along with Henrik Ibsen and August Strindberg, he is considered a principal architect of modern drama. Throughout most of his writing career, he practiced as a medical doctor.
