Tim Gautreaux's fiction has appeared in Harper's, GQ, The Atlantic Monthly, Story, The Best American Short Stories, and New Stories from the South. He has won a National Magazine Award for fiction and an NEA Creative Fellowship. A Louisiana native, he is the director of creative writing at Southeastern Louisiana University. He is the author of several books, including the forthcoming short-story collection Welding with Children, which will be published by St. Martin's/Picador.
