Dara Kell is a South African writer and filmmaker. Her award-winning 2011 documentary Dear Mandela screened at film festivals worldwide and was translated into thirteen languages; the film was supported by the Sundance Institute and nominated for an Africa Movie Academy Award. In 2013 she attended the summer program at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. She lives in New York City, where she is at work on her debut story collection, Scatterlings.
