Daphne du Maurier

Daphne du Maurier (1907–1989) was an English author and playwright. Along with The Birds, Alfred Hitchcock directed film adaptations of two of her other works: Rebecca, which won the Academy Award for Outstanding Production in 1941, and Jamaica Inn.
