Neil LaBute

Neil LaBute is a writer, director, and playwright who first came to prominence in 1997 with In the Company of Men, which won the Sundance Filmmakers Trophy and the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best First Feature. Since then, he has written and directed the films Your Friends & Neighbors, Nurse Betty, Possession, and The Shape of Things, a film adaptation of his long-running play. A collection of his short stories will be published by Grove/Atlantic in 2004.
