Rick Moody is the author of the novels Garden State, The Ice Storm, and Purple America, and two collections of stories, The Ring of Brightest Angels Around Heaven and Demonology. He is the co-editor (with Darcey Steinke) of an anthology of essays, Joyful Noise: The New Testament Revisited. His short work has appeared in the New York Times, The New Yorker, Harper's, Esquire, The Atlantic, and the Village Voice. He is presently at work on a nonfiction genealogical narrative, The Black Veil.
