David Bezmozgis is an author and filmmaker. He lives in Toronto, where he directs the Humber School for Writers. 

Alexandra Chang’s stories have been published or are forthcoming in Glimmer Train, Room, and 3:AM Magazine. She is an MFA candidate in fiction at Syracuse University and lives in Ithaca, NY.

Etgar Keret’s stories have been published in more than forty languages. For the 2007 film Jellyfish, he and his wife, Shira Geffen, won the Caméra d’Or prize at the Cannes Film Festival and the Best Director Award from the French Artists and Writers’ Guild. In 2010, Keret received the decoration of Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. He lives in Tel Aviv.

Hung Liu has been lauded as “the greatest Chinese painter in the US” by the Wall Street Journal. She was born in China in 1948 and immigrated to the United States in 1984. Her works have been exhibited in museums and collected internationally and have earned accolades that include two National Endowment for the Arts fellowships. She lives in Oakland, CA, and is professor emerita at Mills College.

Haruki Murakami was born in Kyoto, Japan, in 1949 and now lives near Tokyo. His work has been translated into thirty-four languages. Among his many honors is the Yomiuri Prize for Literature, given previously to Yukio Mishima, Kenzaburo Oe, and Kobo Abe.
