Daniel Mason is the author of the novels The Piano Tuner and A Far Country, and a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at Stanford University.

Elizabeth McCracken is the author of five books, most recently Thunderstruck and Other Stories, winner of the 2015 Story Prize. She teaches at the University of Texas at Austin.

Maile Meloy is the author of two novels, Liars and Saints and A Family Daughter; two story collections; and the Apothecary trilogy for young readers. She has received the Paris Review’s Aga Khan Prize, the PEN/Malamud Award, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. Her story collection Both Ways Is the Only Way I Want It was recognized by the New York Times Book Review as one of the ten best books of the year.

Kelly Reichardt’s films—which include Old Joy, Wendy and Lucy, Meek’s Cutoff, and Night Moves—have been selected for the Whitney Biennial and the Cannes, Venice, Berlin, and BFI London film festivals. Her most recent feature, Certain Women, will debut at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. She is an artist-in-residence at Bard College.

Barry McGee received a BFA in painting and printmaking from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1991. His drawings, paintings, and mixed-media installations have been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth; and the UCLA Hammer Museum, Los Angeles. In 2011 he was the subject of midcareer surveys at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston. He lives and works in San Francisco.
