The Real Bad Friend
by Robert Bloch

On the fiftieth anniversary of the release of Alfred Hitchcock’s iconic film Psycho, the editors present Robert Bloch’s 1957 story “The Real Bad Friend.” In this story, Bloch first developed the essentials of the Norman Bates character, which he would expand in his 1959 novel, Psycho.

This story is available only in the print edition of the Winter 2010 / 2011 issue. Please purchase a copy from our online store.
