"Slices," says Gail Sproule, "was an attempt to distill the feel of the SF I enjoyed growing up. I read SF then (and now) for pure enjoyment, hoping the story would capture me, catapult me, into futures yet unseen. I live on a farm with my wonderful husband, three children, and assorted animals. My story "Glitter" can be read in the current issue of Adventures of Sword & Sorcery. Besides serving on the Zoetrope Peer Advisory Board, I'm busy working on a novel based on "Glitter". I also write for children, and my agent hopes to place two early readers soon. GailSproule@hotmail.com

Robert Krawetz (Guest Editor) reports: "Born and raised in Brooklyn, I now enjoy the sunshine in Orlando, Florida along with my wife, Helen, and our two alley cats, two Rottweilers and one Mastiff mix. As an independent computer consultant, I've published many technical articles in trade publications. I'm a member of the Mystery Writers of America and the Space Coast Writers Group. I´ve completed one novel, an adventure-thriller titled, `Call Him Killer', and I´m halfway through my second, Vengeance Day." bob_krawetz@mindspring.com

Robert Raven (Guest Editor) is a 1970s graduate of the University of Iowa Writers Workshop who evaded fiction writing for nearly two decades to pursue a career in industrial paleontology. He returned to writing about four years ago, and has completed a novel and several stories, "The Destroyer of Dreams" being the first to see publication. He lives in Anchorage, Alaska, where in addition to writing he spends time keeping snow off his driveway, moose out of his garden and bears out of his garage. He can be reached at rraven@alaska.net
