Heather Fowler (Guest Editor) is a Southern California native, recently relocated to Modesto. She received her M.A. in English and Creative Writing from Hollins University in 1997 and currently teaches at Modesto Junior College in Modesto, CA. Her fiction publications include Zoetrope All-Story Extra, in the October 1999 issue "Dead Mothers" and the December 1999 issue "The Talk Adults Talk". Also, published in December of 1999 was a story entitled "Not A Creature Was Stirring" by Mindkites.

Her recent poetry publications include: "Of Deserted Brown Boxes" (forthcoming June, 2000) in The Coast Highway Review; "This Old Beach Town" and "The California Poem" in Driftwood Highway 1999 Anthology; "The Birthday Poem" in Joe´s Journal, Best of the Beach 1998; "Glass" and "Imaginary Mother" in the 1999 March and July editions of San Diego´s Art Mag The Publication; and two sestinas entitled "The Empress" and "The Deluge" from Volume 6 (1999) of the annual Cityworks Literary Anthology. Jackie Ashton (Guest Editor) is a Manager in the Telecommunications industry. She also freelances -- writing short stories, articles, technical writing projects, and is currently working on a novel "My Other". She has been published in numerous ezines and print magazines, namely: Blue Review, Waxing and Waning, Moondance, A Writer´s Choice Literary Journal, Your Business Newsletter, Quicker, The Door To Worlds Imagined, Mocha Cafe Purple Prose and The Record News.
