Kevin Dolgin (Guest Editor) is a New York native who has lived in Paris for the past fifteen years. When not writing, he does unmentionable things with businesses and unsuccessful things with music. He has had stories published in ASE, and Crossconnect, and others are pending publication in The Berkely Fiction Review and AIM. He is currently working on a novel, an excerpt of which has been published in The Absinthe Literary Review. In 1999 he wrote, produced, and directed the one-act comedy "Backstage Bitches," which ran off-Broadway for nine months. A professional writer since the age of 15, Mr. Toussaint has completed two screenplays and numerous short stories, and is currently working on a new play. His articles have appeared in Conde Nast Traveler, Seven Days, BRIDE'S, Working Woman, and Instinct magazine, to name a few. He has a short story in the November issue of the e-zine Z END Zine and the Fall issue of Outsider Inc--The Voice of the Individualist, both of which were first workshopped on Zoetrope Online Workshop. She is currently seeking a publisher for a first novel, Living Alone which was a semi-finalist in the inaugural Chapters/Robertson Davies Competition, as well as for a collection of short stories, "Leftovers by Moonlight". Meanwhile, she is working on a second novel, and collaborating with Marie Huston on a novel based on "Bucket of Worms". Betty Jane lives and writes in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where she also teaches creative writing at the Alexandra Writers' Centre. "Bucket of Worms" is the first of her short fiction to be published. A second story will be included in the Spring 2000 FreeFall, a Canadian literary magazine. She is currently submitting her novel, Circle of Silence, and her short story collection, "Growing Up Southern," to agents while working on her second novel and collaborating with Betty Jane Hegerat on a novel based on "Bucket of Worms." He grew up in London and now lives just outside Oxford with his wife, Jean, who is an environmental activist. In his time he has been an engineer, a school caretaker, a musician, a record store manager, and a seller of guitars. He began writing while taking an English degree as a mature student. Later he went on to do an MA in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. His tutors there were novelists Malcolm Bradbury and the late Angela Carter. He has had stories published in the UK in Inkshed, Panurge, Acclaim, and Voyage. In 1995 he was a finalist in the Ian St. James Awards International short story competition. His award-winning story was published by Angela Royal in the anthology Pleasure Vessels. His story "The Great House of Easement" is currently up on the e-zine MindKites.
