Leslie Powell is a Southerener by birth, a Midwesterner by transplant, and a New Englander by happenstance. For the time being she writes fiction and screen plays in a seacoast town north of Boston and works as associate publisher at Focus Publishing. She can be reached at: pullins@pullins.com

N. M. Kelby is the recipient of a 1999 Bush Artist Fellowship in Literature and a recent fiction winner in the Loft's Mentor Series. Her poems and short stories appeared in more than fifty journals including The Mississippi Review and the anthology, "Concert at Chopin's House" (New Rivers Press). She has written several plays, with the help of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Jerome Foundation. Her first novel, "In the Company of Angels", has won a 1999 Heekin Group Foundation's James Fellowship for the Novel in Progress, in addition to being a 1998 finalist for the Pirate's Alley Faulkner Prize. It is currently represented by Jane Dystel Literary Management. Her second novel, "Dreams in America", is a darkly comic look at what it means to be an American. Alba Arboleda (Guest Editor) is a native of Carmel, CA, currently living outside Vancouver, Canada with husband and children. Unlike previous GE's and the rest of her family, she plays no musical instruments and is often told to shut-up when she sings. She skis badly, can't skate and won't swim in the BC ocean. She has been a film editor, TV reporter, teacher, technical writer, publications manager, program manager, cafe owner and muses on what life would be like as a tinker, tailor or candlestick maker. Aside from reportage and technical documentation she co-wrote the book for children "Space" and now writes and edits a travel web site. She joined Zoetrope in September, 1998. Roy Kesey (Guest Editor) was born in California, and studied philosophy and literature at Georgetown University, Oxford University, and Washington College. He currently lives in Peru, where he teaches Literary Theory, British and American Literature, and English at the University of Piura. He has published one chapbook of poetry, and is currently seeking representation for "Shards", his first novel. He can be reached at: rkesey@hotmail.com
